Works at the Barn

During 2023, The Barn had its cladding replaced and redecorated. Now it's time to replace the front wall, which has been gently bowing inwards over the years! The work will be carried out in the Autumn of 2024

If you and your friends bring the ideas and organisational push – we’ll provide help:

• Use of the Barn and its facilities

The Barn provides a convenient and friendly local venue for Clubs and Events. There’s wi-fi, tables and chairs and a small kitchen area (suitable for making teas and coffees).
If you plan to use the Westdene Green area outside, we can provide a safe electricity supply up to 3 metres away from the Barn, loan you our marquee and gazebos, simple fencing, outdoor chairs and tables. There’s even some bunting!

• Promotional support and advice

We have 15 garden noticeboards dotted around Westdene as well as a large noticeboard outside the Barn and one inside – so that your posters will get noticed. We can also put your event news releases up on the Friends of Westdene Green faceboook page and the What’s On page in our website

• Advice and guidance

You can pick our brains! Over the years we have advised on setting up Clubs (Boardgames, Book Club, The Sewing Barn, Women’s Meet and Greet) and have laid on events inside and outside the Barn. So we understand how to go about the formal side of things (asking Council permission for an outside event, for example) and have contacts with caterers and suppliers who can provide the things you may need to make your Club or event a success
