“I went to Westdene Primary School and the Barn playgroup so was pleased to get involved in helping to bring it back into use for the community"
We interviewed Matt, who is a Director of Brighton Marquees Tell us about the history of the business Brighton Marquees has been running for almost 30 years and when the owner retired, he left me and his son to manage the business. I’m now responsible for all the operations and general management. I started there as a labourer and have worked my way up. We cater for everything from garden parties, through weddings to Music Festivals. Last year we did the outdoor pub next to Der Spiegeltent for the Brighton Festival. We can provide marquees, lighting, flooring, heating and furniture to cater for any event. What do you aim to achieve for your customers? The company’s reputation rests on reliability and friendly, polite staff. We are a close knit team and in the peak months we see as much of one another as we do our families. Customers notice when a team is happy and motivated so I work hard on this. What excites you most about being in business? I love working outside and the challenge of making sure we provide the right design for people. We’ve even put a marquee over a swimming pool, which was a challenge. < Back to Barn Buddies page |
