The refurbishment of Westdene Barn was completed in 2017!
With an accessible ramp and railing installed, improvements to the outside paving area and new tarmac on the path these external works are provide a better experience for all who access The Barn. A huge shout out to GT Contractors who in addition to working tirelessly inside the barn constructing new walls and doorways, plastering and structural work, secured a free kitchen and doors from Howdens, glass from the Fascia Place and free plasterboard for the ceiling from Covers. Thanks to Mark Streeter and his 'community payback team' for doing a number of chunky jobs, which helped us move the project on. Thanks also to local contractor Woodhart who lent us Aiden to make all the cupboards in the barn. Lastly, we haven't forgotten the amazing work of our wonderful community volunteers including Jim Mander for making the outside railing and local joiner, Richard for the bespoke leaflet rack as well as a host of volunteers who helped paint the barn! We would like to sincerely thank all our sponsors who helped support the refurbishment of The Barn in various ways. From supplying materials, to providing labour for free and cost price goods - we have really appreciated your help!
