Musical Midsummer and Community Fun at Westdene Green
​Sunday July 9th, 12 noon-5pm

The afternoon, organised by Friends of Westdene Green, will include activities for all ages, hot food from local favourites Westdene Butchers and Calcutta Kiss, tea and cakes and a well-stocked bar run by Brighton community pub The Bevy.

Things kick off with some chilled background music from noon while you gather to meet friends and family, order some lunch and have a drink

• From 1pm Patcham’s Les Paul Big Band, a classic Swing Band, opens the musical feast with classics from the Big Band repertoire. 
• Next up, the Northbrook Community Wind Band (all 30 of them!) led by Ruth Summers, will continue the musical fun 
• Children of all ages can join in with our Hula Hoop and circus skills team. Take the chance to visit information stands from Friends of Westdene Green,  TWEACK (the volunteers who have been busy tree-planting and improving the Green and other natural areas around Westdene) and the local Girl Guides.
• Then it’s the turn of the Vic Forte Quintet to entertain us with some classic and mellow jazz before female harmony group The Zanettis play us out

There’s no charge to get in, but you can show your appreciation with a donation to Friends of Westdene Green to help us cover costs
