PLANS FOR THE BARN

Westdene Barn was very much in need of refurbishment in order for it to be a useful multipurpose space for all the community.
After more than half a year of consultation, fundraising and planning the refurb project got underway in May 2017. With the help of people who gave their time for free, who gave us products at cost, or who worked at a subsidised rate, the barn is now nearly complete. There are still some things which need to be completed such as the railings for the ramp outside, painting and tiling so please do come forward if you are a blacksmith, tiler or handy person and can help us finish the project. The Barn now contains a fully accessible toilet, separate kitchen with new existing window opened up, and increased storage in both areas. A revamped lighting system and new flooring has also been installed making the Barn easy to clean and able to be used for a multitude of activities. The donations and funds that were raised have not however covered the heating or insulation of the Barn which is fine now – but much needed from the Autumn onwards. We therefore are fundraising to install six electric heaters in the barn and buy and install insulation for the loft area. Any donations very welcome – please click the donation button below..
